Nox and his Gus <3
I've been dying to read this story since reading it's blurb on Facebook and now I can say that I'm 100% not disappointed in reading it :)
I loved Gus's, which her real name is Augusta, attitude and sass. She didn't back down from anything or anyone. She was feisty and always spoke her mind and she was strong but at the same time, she was soft and vulnerable due to her past (not hers specifically but when this goes live in April 3rd, go check it out and find out what I'm talking about). She's also very loyal to her grandmother and I loved the bond they shared <3 Her grandmother was funny and a wonderful character in the story and you'll get to see more of her in the epilogue, from years long in their future ;)
When Gus meets Killian aka Nox, she had been dating a douche-bag, who cheated on her because as he said, she wouldn't put out and men "can't stay celibate for so long"... like 2 months was that long, puh-lease (by the way, I'm rolling my eyes profusely right now).
Anyways, since the dirty bastard used that excuse, Gus was infuriated and started reaming his butt out and guess who was there? Killian! Well, now we know that when an alpha male sees his mate, he takes advantage of everything in his arsenal to have her closer to him and that's exactly what he did ;) He offers Gus a place to stay, since she now had nowhere to go because of her cheating sort of ex... At first, she's wary but agrees... then after there, the adventure and journey into the start of their lives together starts... Can't give out more spoilers so go read this when it goes live but I'll give you a hint... Killian knew way before Gus that she was meant to be only his... interpret that as you will but no more spoilers...
I loved that when Gus found out the truth about Nox's true job and secrets, she didn't run away; no she stood by her man and listened to his explanations, accepting him for who he was. I loved her loyalty and how she just listened to him and gave him a chance when the moment came to reveal all of his truths. Not many women do that and I admire Gus's strength and in these scenes it showed; in staying while being unaware of what was the truth and not knowing what she was going to truly find out, she did not run away... her love for Killian gave her strength to stay <3 :)
There were funny moments with Nox's dog, Nolan too :) I liked Nox's rough alpha side, which made me flush, especially in the hot scenes ;) but combine that with just imagining his Scottish/Irish accent was a panty-melting moment ;) because let's face it ladies, who doesn't like it when a man with an attractive accent, talks dirty to you ;)
Gus and Nox were made for each other. They both admit they're not perfect; they have flaws, who doesn't?, but that in itself is admirable because I can bet you not many can do that...
Nox to me was sort of an enigma because he wasn't a good guy but he also wasn't a bad guy; he was between the middle; like being a gray spot in between black and white comparisons... but he wanted to be the right man for Gus, yet when everything is out in the open, she doesn't try to change him; she accepts him <3 and Nox accepts that Gus is surrounded by messiness, crazy leggings and can be quite stubborn but he doesn't care because he wants her, flaws and all, nothing else matters to him but her :)
These two are a great couple and even before they even became an official couple, Nox already had Gus's back and knew she was his, his BOOM <3
Also, loved Gus's nickname for Nox, which is "Beast" ;) and I bet that nickname was appropriate when sexy times commenced ;)
