Erik and his Shayla and her little boy, Grant <3 <3

I've been waiting for Erik and Shayla's story since reading the first book of this series and the mystery between revolving their one night stand and how Erik was so hooked up on Shayla's memory and then she starts working where he works, she ignores him and he can't stop looking for ways to interact with her, so I had an incline that their story was going to be next and I'm glad I was right :)

 

These two have crazy chemistry and are both strong, especially Shayla. She has an adorable son, Grant and is very protective of him, so obviously she's hesitant to start anything with Erik. I understood her perspective of starting a relationship especially of what she went through with her ex, who was abusive to her, but Erik, little by little, penetrated through the steel walls that surround her heart and she gives in to him and his love <3

I loved how Erik was with Shayla's son, Grant :) I think that's definitely one of the moments I fell in love with his character because even though he was definitely a man-whore before Shayla and had this sort of facade in front of everyone, he let that all go with Shayla and her son and it was heartwarming to see them, slowly becoming a family <3

Of course, before these two have their happily ever after, they have to go through a series of obstacles and events in the form of several past hook-ups of Erik's and Shayla's ex rearing his head to cause trouble but luckily these two have great friends, some unsuspecting ally to their side and their love to overcome it all and they did :)

I loved the epilogue so much <3 <3 Erik and Shayla made a beautiful couple with a beautiful family <3

We also get a teaser into what is going to be Jack's upcoming story (He's Daisy's dad, the heroine from book one, Security Breach) and I can't wait to read this ;)

Their first encounter and interaction was funny as hell as well as awkward too but it was the start of pursuit of Emelie by Clayton, who is not put off by Emelie's constant rejections, yet she has her reasons...
