This is the first book of the new collaborated series, "BLACK HILLS SHIFTERS" and it was a great start into this new series!

I loved everything about this story! It had great chemistry between the main characters', Cole and his mate, Aubrey but I also liked the flow between Cole's brothers and sister and the introduction of their characters was well executed, in my opinion, and I'm already excited for Slate's story which will be the second book of the series :)

Cole and Aubrey's connection as mates was undeniable, the intimate scenes were spicy, hot and sexy as well as gentle with a mix of rawness to it that it made me blush a couple of times ;) Of course, there's also a bit of drama but no ow/om sex scenes nor ow/om problems for these two. I also liked how the author, Elisa Leigh kept us intrigued while reading the ending/epilogue of Cole and Aubrey's story, which mentioned Slate's behavior towards Aubrey and how at the end, they became good friends after he confessed why he was the way he was and I'm super curious as to the reason why he was sort of cold towards Aubrey at the beginning... we'll know more when Slate's story releases next!
